Crowd funding filming planning story boards and script

Script:

Joel Peters and Harrison Leighton

Setting: In the media office sitting on mrs eyres desk.

Joel: So you’re a young budding filmmaker who doesn’t have any experience or much of a budget. Well lucky I’ve done my research on 3 websites to help you succeed in your filmmaking.

Joel: Of course, follow me and listen to my words of wisdom to find out how to thrive in the creation of your film.

Setting: Headteachers office.

Harrison: I’ve heard about 2 websites that would help me become a budding young filmmaker, please explain the vital information I need to thrive in my production.

Joel: Are the 2 you have researched, WE ARE UK FILM, Creative Europe

Harrison: Why yes they are, what a coincidence.

Joel: WE ARE UK FILM bring together the UK’s film national and regional agencies, producers and sales companies less than one umbrella to provide clear information about the outstanding locations, services, films and talents. They stand out to represent the UK film industry and enable connections with both national and international partners.

Harrison: Do they work with anyone else and have partners?

Joel: Why yes! Yes they do! They are in partnership with BFI – British Film Institute, The British Film Commission (BFC) They have commercial partners such as Disney and Warner Bros. UK and its UK-based film production operations, Working Title Films, Elstree Studios and Coutts, Creative England, Creative Scotland and many more.

Harrison: But I need funding for my film, what has this got to do to help me?

Joel: Well, companies such as WE ARE UK FILM, source their funding from these companies that they work with. Their partners help invest into their productions which will be used in pre and postproduction.

Harrison: So I have to find a willing investor?

Joel: That’s one option but let me explain how other companies source funding for their films…

Setting: computers

Harrison: Ive heard of Creative Europe. Who are they?

Joel: Creative Europe is a company that helps finance young budding filmkaers such as you, Harrison.
They host events all across the nation and organize their own free seminars and workshops about themselves.
they don’t just support film makers, they give opportunities to producers, video game developers, distributors and other areas of expertise in the new media sector.

Harrison: How successful have any of these people been? Has anyone succeeded from these investments?

Joel: well, the results have been phenomenal. Over £40 million was invested in the UK’s audiovisual sector: 113 UK companies and 55 UK cinemas in the Europa cinemas network have been benefited from the grants.

Harrison: know I know about 2 companies.. What about the third?

Setting: Cafeteria

Joel: Considering you are an individual making a short film and not an established company, methods such as crowd funding would be a more suitable option for you to source finance. By crowdfunding, you can obtain the money online and also spread awareness from friends and family.

what was the task?
-The task was to create a storyboard and a script that would than later help when filming the short film based on giving information about crowd-funding. The storyboard and script where a plan for the film

what did i learn?
-I learnt how important a storyboard is as it create the image for how everything is filmed. It sets out a plan for how all the angles and shots are filmed. I also learnt that the script is important however the information should always be wrapped around some sort of example so that it is interesting and entertaining.
how does this help  me?
-This helps me improve my planning and technique for then i have to draw out a storyboard and for when i have to write out a plan.
