The budget for harry potter and the sorcerer's stone was 130 million USD 


The budget was also spent on paying royalty to J.K Rowling so that they had permission to use her story as the script and use the description for the characters. The budget was also spent on casting the actors, Daniel Radcliffe $110 million, Emma Watson $70 million, Rupert Grint $50 million etc, they also used it when casting the extras, animals and voices overs, meaning they also used the budget to pay for studio's and studio time.


The budget was also spent on creating the set for each scene, for example the library, classrooms, bedrooms, the dinning room. The budget was also used to create the castle that is used to film the panoramas and shots of Hogwarts. It was also spent on the costumes that each actor wore, their school uniform, the causal clothing and any type of costume that they used. The money was also used to create the props that they used in the film, again each prop had different properties, for example the wands they all had be different as all the students need different individual ones. Each prop had a different property that made them different and 'magical' meaning that they cost a lot of money to make. They would also have to buy trailers for each actor so that they had a room to change in, relax in, sleep in.


The money from the budget was also spent on hiring crew member that had experience in editing, as the film is based on magic and they need to edit it so the things they filmed had magic in them, filming (camera man that has experience ), sound guys, technical technician that fixed any technology that was damaged or broken, the money was also used for make up artists who created the elusions of wounds and put make up on all the actors, they also hired hairstylist who did the hair of each actor according to how it was in the book so that each character in the book was recreated perfectly. The producers also hired people who look after the actors and made sure they got to the places they needed to be in and assistance who assisted the producers, the writers and the director. They would also hire caterers who cooked food for everyone.
